If you’ve lived in Oklahoma long enough, you know the soil has a personality. It’s red. It’s stubborn. It clings to your boots and reminds you it’s there. And if you’re going to work with it, you’d better respect it.

That’s part of why we named our company Red Earth Landscaping. The name isn’t complicated. It’s simply who we are and where we’re from.
I was born and raised here. So was my husband, Curry. We both studied landscape design and contracting at Oklahoma State, and after spending a few years working on large projects in Dallas, we felt the pull to come home. We didn’t just want to build landscapes. We wanted to build them here, in the same red dirt we grew up in.
What started as the two of us taking on projects one at a time has grown into a full team serving homeowners across Oklahoma City, Nichols Hills, Arcadia, Edmond and beyond. But at its core, Red Earth Landscaping is still deeply personal to us.
Building something our kids can see
One of the greatest gifts this business has given us is the chance for our three children to watch it grow.
They’ve seen the early mornings. They’ve seen muddy boots by the back door. They’ve seen us study plans at the kitchen table and celebrate when a project finally comes together. They’ve also seen that good work doesn’t happen by accident.
Curry and I talk a lot about what we want them to learn. Hard work. Integrity. Following through on what you say you’re going to do. Taking care of what’s been entrusted to you, whether that’s a yard, a client relationship or a small piece of Oklahoma soil.
When they drive by one of our finished projects and say, “Mom, you did that,” there’s a kind of pride that’s hard to describe.
Working with the land, not against it
Landscaping in Oklahoma isn’t always easy. Our clay soil, unpredictable storms and hot summers will humble you quickly if you don’t plan properly.
That’s why at Red Earth Landscaping, we focus on building things the right way from the beginning.
We choose plants that actually thrive here, not just the ones that look good in a catalog. We do extensive bed preparation and soil amendments. The part of your landscape that no one can see is actually the most important aspect in it’s long term success. If the soil isn’t healthy, nothing will thrive. We pay attention to drainage and grading because we know one heavy rain can undo careless work. We build patios and hardscaping with proper base preparation so they last through our freeze-thaw cycles.
I’ve learned over the years that beauty matters, but longevity matters more. If a landscape looks stunning for a season and then struggles, that’s not success. Success is when a yard settles in and feels like it belongs. A good landscape design and installation is judged on how it looks in 2 to 5 years, not on the day it is completed.
Why being local changes everything
Being a locally owned company means our name is attached to every project. We run into our clients at the grocery store, at school events and at Thunder Games. That keeps us accountable in the best possible way.
When someone searches for Red Earth Landscaping, I want them to know they’re hiring a family that lives here and cares about this community.
We’re not trying to be the biggest landscape company in Oklahoma City. We’re trying to be the one people trust the most.

What this work means to me
At the end of the day, landscaping is about more than patios and garden beds. It’s about creating spaces where families gather, where kids run barefoot in the grass and where friends stay a little longer around the fire pit.
It’s about caring for the earth we’ve been given and teaching our children that good things take effort.
Red Earth Landscaping was built on Oklahoma soil, and it’s rooted in our family’s values. That’s something we’re proud of — and something we work hard to honor with every project.
